Vinyl Micro Tubing
Micro Tubing is used to extend drippers and micro sprinklers from mainline or as the primary line in a small system. Flexible vinyl will not kink or crimp and is still resistant to UV rays. It may be used above or below ground. When using micro tubing, keep your line lengths to 30' or less. Anything over 30' and you may suffer from PSI loss due to friction within the tubing. This does not mean you cannot use more than 30' of 1/4" tubing in your system, it simply means that the maximum point-to-point water path should not exceed 30' for any single length of 1/4" line.
Special note about the Brown and 1/4" Small Black tubing: We carry these specialty items for nurseries or anyone who is having "pop-off"* issues. This tubing has an ID of .156" and OD of .245". This tubing has a slightly smaller inside diameter than our standard 1/4" vinyl tubing. We recommend our standard 1/4" vinyl tubing which has a .170" ID and .250" OD in all situations unless you are experiencing "pop-off" issues.
* Pop-off is when the tubing will not stay on the barb fitting and "pops off". Often this is a result of system pressure being too high.
